Traverse City, MI—[March 21, 2024] — Traverse City Horse Shows (TCHS) proudly announces the return of Debbie Smith, Ltd. as the presenting sponsor of the $100,000 World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Central Hunter Spectacular for the 2024 season. The WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular highlights a unique Saturday evening exhibition at Flintfields Horse Park on June 22, 2024.

Debbie Smith’s support ensures the WCHR Hunter Spectacular remains a pivotal event in Traverse City’s equestrian community. Her extensive background in competitive equestrian sport and her commitment to the growth of the discipline highlight a career spanning from notable junior achievements to significant contributions to U.S. Show Jumping. Smith’s passion for equestrian sport also shines through her support for Carissimo 25, her esteemed gelding ridden by Aaron Vale, as they aim for success on the international circuit, including aspirations for the Paris Olympics.

“Supporting the WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular is a privilege that ties directly to my lifelong journey in equestrian sport,” Smith expressed. “I am excited to see this partnership bring the best in hunter competition to Traverse City as a way to foster talent with opportunity.”

The Central Hunter Spectacular, a highlight of the WCHR Program, convenes top hunter riders to celebrate equestrian excellence. As the year’s final WCHR Hunter Spectacular, following the Palm Beach Spectacular and West Coast Spectacular in Florida and California, the event in Traverse City will feature a derby-style format that challenges juniors, amateurs, and professionals to demonstrate their prowess at various heights.

“Introducing Debbie and her team to Flintfields Horse Park and Northern Michigan was a highlight last summer,” said Matt Morrissey, Event Director at TCHS. “We’re thankful for her commitment and excited for this season’s Spectacular.”

The WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular showcases the discipline’s elegance and skill, enhancing the dynamic start of the TCHS season and affirming its reputation as a leading venue for equestrian excellence. With anticipation for another remarkable year, TCHS, alongside Debbie Smith, Ltd., pledges to provide an exceptional experience for all competitors, spectators, and sponsors involved.
