Frequently Asked Questions

We host daily exhibitions from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 8 am. For Ticketed Events, you may purchase them online or at the gate. Please note: we show rain or shine and start times change—please check for updates. We encourage spectators to come early to enjoy the venue and not miss any action.

Every week during the 13-week season (June–September) is a little different. However you always have the opportunity to witness Olympic riders on some of the world’s finest horses. You’ll also have a chance to watch children on ponies beginning their equestrian journey. Who knows, the five-year-old jumping today at Flintfields Horse Park may be an Olympian in 20 years!

At Traverse City Horse Shows, you’ll have an opportunity to witness exhibits of equitation, hunter, and jumper. Download an introduction and follow the action in each ring. We also have one week of dressage during the FEI North American Youth Championships.

Traverse City Horse Shows is conveniently located at 6535 Bates Road in Williamsburg, Michigan—just a half-mile north of M-72. We’re a quick 20-minute drive from downtown Traverse City, Elk Rapids, and the Cherry Capital Airport. For specific driving directions, check out the directions page.

Admission to the horse shows is complimentary most days, starting on Wednesdays. However, our Grand Prix and special competitions on select days are ticketed events. General admission is $15, with additional options for reserved Cabana Coast Box Seat for six, passes to The Overlook, and day passes to the VIP Club available. TCHS proudly donates 100% of general admission ticket sales to non-profits. Non-profits interested in our donation program can sign up to be notified about application openings.

  • General Admission Tickets: These offer open seating, first come first serve, with a mix of options, including tables in the Cabana Coast Club, Adirondack chairs on the hill, and many attendees bringing their own blankets or chairs. We donate 100% of our general admission revenue to local non-profits.
  • Cabana Coast Club Box Seats: These private boxes seat six people and offer a comfortable and premium experience close to the action. Box Seats include a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and a charcuterie board.
  • The Overlook: Located on the second floor of the VIP Club, The Overlook provides shade and a unique elevated view of the ring. It also offers a limited complimentary bar and hors d’oeuvres.
  • VIP Club Passes: These include access to the VIP Club, which offers full meals, a complimentary bar, and premium seating.
Prices are up to date on our our ticketing platform. Tickets are only required for Grand Prix Sundays and select events.

We offer various food and beverage options. Enjoy light snacks and hearty meals from local food trucks and our concession stand. Refresh yourself with beverages at our three pavilions strategically located throughout the venue. For those looking to indulge in some retail therapy, explore Vendors Row, where you’ll find luxurious shopping with a wide selection of equestrian products, apparel, and more—including additional snacks and a delicious lemonade stand.

At Traverse City Horse Shows, we prioritize comfort in our relaxed atmosphere. We recommend wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes for navigating various terrains—it’s a farm, after all! Sunglasses and a hat are also essential, and remember to check the weather, as our shows continue rain or shine. Feel free to dress fashionably if you desire a stylish day out! While we provide Adirondack chairs and limited covered seating in the Cabana Coast Club, many spectators bring their own chairs or blankets for lawn seating. Once you’re inside the show, explore the different rings and experiences using the venue map, available at the gate or online

We strive to provide an inclusive and accessible experience for all visitors. Visitors can find universal seating in the Cabana Coast Club, which overlooks the Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel International Ring. Our team is more than happy to assist you.
