Set on over 130 acres 15 minutes from downtown, Flintfields Horse Park is home to Traverse City Horse Shows and one of North America’s premier equestrian destinations. Designed with competitors’ safety and comfort at the forefront, the venue blends world-class infrastructure with the natural beauty of Northern Michigan.

Over the past several years, we’ve made significant investments to meet the evolving needs of high-level sport. Recent upgrades include:

Venue Amenities & Ongoing Enhancements

Since 2015, Traverse City Horse Shows has continually invested in the growth and modernization of Flintfields Horse Park—transforming it into one of the premier venues for equestrian sport in North America. We design every improvement with competitors, horses, and our guests in mind.

Flintfields Horse Park is available for select rentals to host equestrian competitions, clinics, or related events. Our 130-acre facility offers world-class footing, stabling, and infrastructure ideal for a range of equestrian disciplines.

From Toledo, OH & Lexington, KY

Take I-75 North to Toledo. From Toledo, follow US-23 North toward Ann Arbor. Stay on US-23 North past I-94 and I-96, continuing north to Bay City.

At Bay City, merge back onto I-75 North toward Grayling. Exit at M-72 West and continue through Kalkaska to Williamsburg. After Williamsburg, continue 1.9 miles west on M-72, then turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your left in ½ mile.

Approx. 5 hours from Toledo
Approx. 9 hours from Lexington

From South East Michigan (Detroit Area):

Take I-75 North toward Grayling. Exit onto M-72 West and continue through Kalkaska to Williamsburg. From Williamsburg, continue 1.9 miles west on M-72. About a mile after passing Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your left in ½ mile.

Approx. 4 hours from Detroit.

From Mid-Michigan (Lansing Area):

Take US-127 North to Clare, then merge onto M-10 West. Continue on M-115 North toward Cadillac. From M-115, merge onto US-131 North and take the Fife Lake Road exit. Turn left onto Fife Lake Road (County Road 605).

Stay on CR 605 through the jog (keep left) and continue to Williamsburg. At the intersection with M-72, turn left (west). About 1 mile after passing Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your left in ½ mile.

Approx. 3 hours from Lansing.

From South West Michigan (Grand Rapids Area):

Take I-96 East to US-131 North through Cadillac. Continue on US-131 and take the Fife Lake Road exit. Turn left onto Fife Lake Road (County Road 605).

Stay on CR 605 through the jog (keep left) and continue to Williamsburg. At the intersection with M-72, turn left (west). About 1 mile after passing Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your left in ½ mile.

From Traverse City

Take US-31 North to Acme. At Acme, turn right onto M-72 East toward Williamsburg. After approximately 3 miles, turn left onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your left in ½ mile.

Alternate Route:

Take US-31 South past the M-72 traffic light and Grand Traverse Resort. Turn right onto Brackett Road. After 3 miles, at the stop sign, turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your right in ¼ mile.

Take US-31 South to Lochenheath (just north of Acme). Turn left onto Brackett Road. After 3 miles, at the stop sign, turn right onto Bates Road. Flintfields Horse Park will be on your right in ¼ mile.
