TRAVERSE CITY HORSE SHOWS, LLC, ANNOUNCES RENEWAL OF PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GRAND TRAVERSE BAND OF OTTAWA & CHIPPEWA INDIANS

Williamsburg, MI (March 7, 2023) – Flintfields Horse Park and Traverse City Horse Shows, LLC (TCHS), the parent company of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF) and the Traverse City Spring Horse Show, are proud to announce the renewal of the cultural and marketing partnership with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos.

Since its inception in 2015, TCHS has created and grown as a destination horse show facility for the entire family. As a significant sponsor, this continued partnership is essential to the venue and growth of its events; it celebrates the culture and rich history of the Grand Traverse Band while at the same time connecting horse show competitors and spectators with many fantastic opportunities and amenities at Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel and Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.

“We are honored to continue our partnership with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians,” said Matt Morrissey, Event Director of Traverse City Horse Shows. “The tribe is a significant leader in our community, and we are honored to intertwine their cultural elements into our events. What makes our shows special to our competitors and their families is our location in Northern Michigan and Traverse City, and the Grand Traverse Band is an integral part of our region. We look forward to sharing their culture and history while enriching the experience of our competitors for years to come.”

“The partnership has not only helped increase area tourism through the 13 week expansion and caliber of prize offerings, but also helped to showcase the heritage and culture of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians to guests from 46 states and 29 countries with photographic installations throughout Flintfields Park and cultural exhibitions and celebrations during their events.” said Rich Bailey, CEO of the Grand Traverse Band Economic Development Corporation. “The close proximity of our properties with Flintfields Horse Park has made the Official Resort and Hotel partnership with Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos the ideal trifecta for award-winning fun and games for all of our guests. Traverse City Horse Shows sets the bar at the highest level in area entertainment and hospitality, and so do we at Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel and Grand Traverse Resort and Spa; working together is a natural fit.”

The Official Resort & Hotel Partners of Traverse City Horse Shows, Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel are only a few short miles from the horse show grounds. Both locations provide competitors and their families with an affordable, luxurious area to relax and unwind while offering amenities to keep non-equestrians entertained and provide the right environment for serious competitors to prepare to perform at their best.

“TCHS is not only a horse show but a destination, and we welcome competitors and spectators of all ages, ” said Morrissey. “Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel and Grand Traverse Resort and Spa offer exceptional amenities for all to enjoy, allowing our guests to leave Michigan with everlasting memories and experiences.”

Located minutes away with a newly renovated hotel, Bourbons 72 premiere steakhouse, and the excitement of award-winning gaming and promotions, Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel adds to the area attractions. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa offers world-class amenities including championship golf courses, Spa Grand Traverse, health club, shopping gallery, and an extensive list of restaurants.

The partnership continues on-site at the showgrounds with the Traverse City Spring Horse Show Presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel. This competition spans June 7-25 and includes three weeks of FEI competition, the $100,000 WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular, the Markel/USHJA Zone 1, 2, 5 & 6 Team Jumper & Platinum Championships, the $145,100 Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel Grand Prix on June 11, and more!
